Courtney Love backtracks on Hole reunion claims
Singer recently claimed that she was rehearsing with Eric Erlandson, Melissa Auf der Maur and Patty Schemel
Speaking in a recent interview, Love revealed that she was currently rehearsing with guitar player Eric Erlandson, bassist Melissa Auf der Maur and drummer Patty Schemel, "just to see how that was".
However, in a new interview with The Telegraph, Love admitted that the highly publicised quotes had got her into trouble with her bandmates and may have affected the future of the band reunion. "We may have made out but there is no talk of marriage," she explained. "It's very frail, nothing might happen, and now the band are all flipping out with me."
Elsewhere in the interview, Love explained further about her plans for a Broadway production based on late husband, and Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain's life. Denying she would deliberately taint the singer's legacy, Love said: "It's more a play, conceived by a brilliant team. I can't name names, but when you hear who is possibly involved, it takes on a new dimension. Otherwise it's Vegas rubbish, and I will never allow it. There will be no jazz hands on 'Smells Like Teen Spirit!'"
Love also found time to insult Cobain's former bandmate Dave Grohl, saying she could never make the sort of music he now does. Discussing how she holds her music up to a high standard, the singer says: "I can’t just do a really good rock record and that’s the end of it. I can't be Nickelback. And not to be a bitch, I can't be the Foo Fighters."
