Courtney Love has said that people "expect a lot more from me" than from Queens Of The Stone Age.

Speaking to The Quietus, the former Hole frontwoman discussed her writing process, commenting: "Well, you sit and you write like, Queens Of The Stone Age drudge for a month, and it's just not happening, and it's not happening - not that Queens Of The Stone Age suck, but people expect a lot more from me."

She added that people have set a "higher bar" for her when it comes to songwriting. "Josh Homme can play like, four notes on his bass and people take off their tops, but I have a higher bar for whatever reason. It has to be just fucking really really good," she explained.

Courtney Love will tour the UK in May, playing nine dates, starting with two shows at London Shepherd's Bush Empire on May 11-12, finishing at Newcastle Riverside on May 22. Speaking about the tour, she said: "I feel most at home in the UK and can't wait to catch up on TOWIE and play in my second and hopefully, inevitably my first home. I grew up half a British citizen and I just miss it. I can't wait to play for my Brits".

Last week (April 11), Love joined her late husband Kurt Cobain's bandmates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic to see Nirvana's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, which was conducted by REM's Michael Stipe.

Joan Jett, St Vincent, Lorde and Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon all joined the surviving members of the band for a special performance. Joan Jett sang 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', Kim Gordon performed 'Aneurysm', St Vincent played 'Lithium' and Lorde sang 'All Apologies'. "I just wish Kurt could have been here," Love said after the event. "Tonight he would have really appreciated it. I just want to give this to our daughter Frances Bean, who couldn't be here because she was ill."
