Courtney Love has allegedly been attacked by a crowd of protesters picketing against the transport app Uber.

There has been much criticism against Uber recently, with its critics accusing the company of risking the livelihood of licensed taxi drivers. As BBC News reports, French taxi drivers have blocked roads to Paris airports in a protest against Uber, with riot police using tear gas in retaliation.

Taking to Twitter, Courtney Love has claimed to be stuck in the middle of the protest. She tweeted: "Dude @kanyewest we may turn back to the airport and hide out with u.picketers just attacked our car #ParisUberStrike".

Love continued: "they've ambushed our car and are holding our driver hostage. they're beating the cars with metal bats. this is France?? I'm safer in Baghdad ... François Hollande where are the fucking police??? is it legal for your people to attack visitors? Get your ass to the airport. Wtf???"

Later, she posted an update, saying: "paid some guys on motorcycles to sneak us out, got chased by a mob of taxi drivers who threw rocks, passed two police and they did nothing".






Courtney Love recently revealed new single 'Miss Narcissist'. The song was released via Ghost Ramp, the label run by Wavves' Nathan Williams, and is available digitally. It will be released physically this summer with B-side 'Radio Killer'.

In an interview with EW earlier this year Love, who is currently on tour in the US with Lana Del Rey, stated that she is "not really interested" in making music at the moment.
