BASTARD, the all-girl group fronted by COURTNEY LOVE have completed demoing new material, although reports suggest the group currently consists of only two members.

that Bastard and Veruca Salt guitarist Louise Post and ex-Rockit Girl bassist Gina Crosley have left to work on the forthcoming Veruca Salt album, due for release next summer, reports

As a result, Love and former Hole drummer Patty Schemel completed the Bastard demo, which the star describes as "raw and really rock".

Love said: "I'm not trying to do a real pop-rock record again, because I did that. (The demo is) really raw and really rock and really personal. I don't write songs about the business or deconstruct celebrity; they're more emotional, internal songs.

"I have really high standards, and it's not a joke anymore. I love Kittie, but it needs to be Zeppelin-level. And if we can't kick Fred Durst's ass, I don't want to do it. I'm not happy unless it's going to be fucking great."

For an exclusive interview with Love, see this week's NME, out in London tomorrow (September 11), and nationwide Wednesday (12).
