No permanent reunion for Clapton and Cream
Shows in London and New York were one-offs
Eric Clapton’s reunion with Cream will not be permanent, say promoters.
The rock legends regrouped for sellout concerts in London and New York this year, but fans hoping that the band were back for good will be disappointed.
The band performed at Madison Square Gardens on Wednesday (October 26) and at London’s Royal Albert Hall in May, the scene of their last gig in 1968. Clapton told the audience, “Thanks for waiting all these years!”
According to the BBC, publicist Kirsten Foster has announced that the band have no future plans.
Clapton is said to have agreed to play with the band again due to the failing health of the other band members, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker.
