Crystal Castles perform 'Baptism' at the Shockwaves NME Awards

Dance duo play O2 Academy Brixton ceremony

Crystal Castles have brought their digi-rock to tonight's (February 23) Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 ceremony, playing their song 'Baptism' live.

Unleashing a glitter shower on the pit and the front tables during the song, frontwoman Alice Glass ended the performance by crawling off the stage.

The electro duo, who have just finished headlining the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, performed at London's O2 Academy Brixton.

They picked up the John Peel Award for Innovation earlier in the evening.

'Baptism' is nominated in the Best Dancefloor Filler category, where it is up against tracks from Kele, Plan B, Professor Green and Tinie Tempah.

The band are also in contention for Best Album for their second self-titled album 'Crystal Castles', but face stiff competition from Arcade Fire, Foals, My Chemical Romance and Two Door Cinema Club.

The NME Awards Big Gig takes place on Friday (25). Godlike Genius Dave Grohl's band Foo Fighters headline, with Cee Lo Green, Band Of Horses and No Age also on the bill.
