Crystal Castles cancel UK tour

Festival dates and limited shows still to go ahead

Crystal Castles have cancelled their autumn UK tour.

The duo have pulled the dates due to recording commitments.

They will however still play their show at London's Electric Ballroom on September 18, along with their festival appearance at Reading And Leeds, Jersey Live, Hydro Connect and Electric Pinic.

The pair will also play festival warm-up dates Manchester Academy (August 26), Leeds Cockpit (27) and Birmingham Academy (28).

The cancelled shows are:

Newcastle Academy (September 2)
Sheffield Leadmill (3)
Leeds Cockpit (4)
Coventry Kasbah (7)
Nottingham Rescue Rooms (9)
Bristol Thekla (10)
Birmingham Academy 2 (12)
Manchester Academy 2 (13)
Preston 53 Degress (14)
Brighton Concorde (16)
Cambridge Junction (17)

What the actual fuck?!I can't believe this, I was really looking forward to seeing them & to hear they're not playing... that sucks mucho.

I hope they have a good reason for cancelling these dates, they owe it to their fans. It's obviously got nothing to do with Alice or Ethan, but their management, and I really hope the detriment of cancelling these dates is worse than had they actually played them.

Oh bugger! I saw them at Glastonbury this year at the John Peel stage. In between the incompetant and amateurish Security Team switching off their power when Alice climbed the stage scaffolding, and then cutting their gig short because Alice wanted to crowd surf, their electro punk music was excellent. Based on that performance I booked a ticket to go see them at the Sheffield Leadmill. Very disappointed to find out today that the gig was cancelled.
