And the gesture might be reciprocated

will record a cover of Grizzly Bear's track ‘Knife’, CSS multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Adriano Cintra has told NME.COM.

In return, the Brazilian band have asked the New Yorkers to record one of their songs.

Grizzly Bear's ‘Yellow House’ is one of my favorite albums from 2006 and ‘Knife’ is probably my favorite track from the album,” said Cintra, who began working on the track this weekend. “In the plane coming from Athens I started to sketch it. I think by the end of next week I'll have it done. We’re going to record it. Maybe we could do a split single -- that would be awesome.”

Cintra said that CSS's version of ‘Knife’ will be a “EuroTrashHouseMeetsTalkingHeads kinda thing”.

Grizzly Bear were pleasantly surprised learn of CSS's interest. “I wouldn’t have expected a Brazilian dance punk band to be into us, but they’re really huge fans,” said Grizzly Bear frontman Ed Droste. “Adriano contacted us and asked if they could record it and use it as a B-side or a download, and maybe play it out live, and we were totally into it.”

Although Grizzly Bear are not yet sure which CSS song they’ll cover, Droste said they’re leaning toward ‘Alala’.
