CSS, Jimmy Cliff, The Aliens set for free London festival

Greater London Authority announce Finsbury Park gig

CSS, Jimmy Cliff and The Aliens will play the free Rise festival, set to take place in London's Finsbury Park on July 13.

Sharon Jones And The Dap-Kings, Dub Pistols, Beardyman, and TY are also set to perform at the bash.

The festival is organised by the Greater London Authority, with the aim of celebrating diversity in the UK capital.

Odd that NME doesn't comment on the bigger story associated with this - that the GLA, under new-mayor Boris Johnson, has completely changed RISE. What had been Europe's largest anti-racism festival exists now in name only. It's now just a festival. Not that surprising, considering the BNP recommended voters choose Boris with their second votes.
