Cut Copy have been embroiled in legal action with Chanel.
The trouble was over a T-shirt produced by singer Dan Whitford, which mimicked the fashion giant’s crossed ‘CC’ gold logo.
When Chanel found out about the merchandise, they serviced a cease and desist order on the group, threatening to sue them unless all the remaining T-shirts were immediately handed over.
“We fought the law and the law won,” Whitford told NME.COM. “They totally beamed us to death and we’ve given our shirts back. We quite quickly stopped when we were advised that they could pretty much take us for all we’re worth.”
