Da Brat arrested after nightclub fight

Rapper hits waitress in face with bottle

Da Brat was arrested in the early hours of this morning (October 31) after an altercation with a waitress in an Atlanta nightclub owned by Janet Jackson’s boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.

According to reports, the waitress bumped into the rapper, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, and the pair had words.

As the waitress walked away, Da Brat apparently hit her in the face with a bottle of rum, causing a deep cut to the cheek and swelling. She was taken to hospital and police were called.

The rapper was charged with aggravated assault, and can be held at the DeKalb County Jail for up to 72 hours until her court appearance.

A platinum-selling rapper, she has also appeared on such reality TV shows as ‘Celebrity Fit Club’ and ‘The Surreal Life’.
