Daft Punk thrill at Lollapalooza

Day one is a veritable dance-fest

Daft Punk thrill at Lollapalooza

Daft Punk closed day on of Lollapalooza tonight with a stunning hit-filled set.

The French dup typically took to the stage in their robot ensembles, and launched into a 90-miniute crowd-pleasing medley that would put Jive Bunny to shame.

As the VIPs (including Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz and girlfriend Ashlee Simpson) surged towards the pit, security formed a human barrier to prevent over-crowing in the front-of-stage area, forcing people back into the crowd where they joined the dance-crazed punters.

Within the first portion of their the electronic dance gods had covered several of their biggest hits including ’One More Time’, ’Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ and [b’]Crescendolls’[/b].

The duo then took respite from their best-known songs as they performed a selection of new material, while the sweaty audience calmed down after the frenzied opening hour.

But the robots weren’t letting the crowd go home without hitting a high note with a techno-tastic teasers of ’Aerodynamic’ , ’Da Funk’, and even incorporated Stardust’s ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ into their closing mix.
