Madonna spent a total of £100,000 on a holiday, hiring out a palace in India to celebrate the New Year. They arrived at the Ummed Bhavan Palace hotel in Jaipur via private jet (The Sun).

Pete Doherty sent Kate Moss a text message at midnight on New Year’s Eve, sparking a bust-up between her and her boyfriend, The KillsJamie Hince (Daily Star).

'X Factor' star Leon Jackson was “bitterly disappointed” at having to cancel his previously-scheduled appearance at Hogmany in Edinburgh – because he’s a huge fan of Kasabian, who headlined the bash (Daily Mirror).

Rachel Stevens was spotted strolling around London’s Primrose Hill area (Daily Star).

Carl Barat was spotted in Camden High Street wearing an enormous pair of black sunglasses (Daily Mirror).
