Noel Gallagher spurned by Elton John, Britney finds God - Daily Ligger
Noel Gallagher
Richard Ashcroft, Girls Aloud, Glasvegas, Carl Barat, The Wombats – your music gossip stop
Welcome to the Daily Ligger: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.
Today’s top gossip:
Noel Gallagher was turned away from Elton John’s post-Oscars party in Los Angeles (February 24). Maybe fancying a break from mixing, Gallagher turned up to the party with some 'scruffy hangers-on' and texted the organisers, but to no avail – he wasn't let in (Daily Mirror).
From the papers:
Britney Spears has been seen at a church in Malibu, California, where her father worships. Rather than just visiting her old man, the singer has reportedly found God (The Star).
Richard Ashcroft was spotted buying computer game 'The Legend Of Zelda' for his Wii console in London’s Uxbridge Road area (Daily Star).
Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle was spotted partying at Elton John’s Oscars bash, having stayed in LA rather than come back to accompany her band members to the Brit Awards – she apparently lost her passport (The Sun).
E-mailed in from NME.COM users:
There was a trilby-off at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, where Alan McGee and Carl Barat both sported fetching hats as they watched Glasvegas. McGee’s was better.
Barat and Glasvegas then went to the K-West hotel to relax and were joined by The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess and Dirty Pretty Things’ Gary Powell. The Wombats were at the bar getting sozzled (from Carrie).
