The Zutons' Dave McCabe, who wrote 'Valerie', has spoken about his frosty relationship with Amy Winehouse, who famously covered the song in 2007. This has been caused partly because of McCabe's first meeting with her now-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. McCabe revealed: "I said: 'Mate, why don't you do something useful so you're not just known for being Amy Winehouse's boyfriend?' I'm not so proud of that moment" (Daily Star).
