The View's Kyle Falconer has apologised to fans for turning up to a gig in Nottingham so drunk that he couldn’t perform.
The singer arrived at the Bodega Social so drunk that he could barely stand up and later issued a statement saying: "I'm really sorry to have let all our fans down. There's no excuses, I'm just really sorry I got so drunk I couldn’t do the gig" (Daily Record).

Joaquin Phoenix has announced that he is quitting Hollywood to pursue a career in music. The actor's latest movie 'Two Lovers' will be his last onscreen performance, and it is reported that he is currently working on an album collaborating with Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess (The Independent).

It has been alleged that Madonna tried to control her husband's life by drawing up a contract instructing him on how to behave (The Independent).

Not content with donning a fried egg costume for a recent Halloween bash, Katy Perry went all-out costume-wise for another Los Angeles soiree (Perez Hilton's dead celebrity-themed party), this time turning up dressed as Freddie Mercury complete with white trousers, yellow leather jacket and thick moustache (Various).

Pink has slated Jennifer Aniston's beau John Mayer, calling him her "most-hated celebrity" (Daily Star).

The Wombats will mock Leona Lewis at the MTV Europe Awards with a punked up version of 'Bleeding Love'. The Liverpool trio lost out to the 'X Factor' winner for the title of UK's favourite act, and so will don T-shirts bearing the words: "We Were Robbed" (The Sun).

Rapper Coolio is the next star to be signed up for 'Celebrity Big Brother' next year. He will join Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston on the show in January (Daily Star).

McFly will sing this year's Children In Need song on the November 14 show. The double A-side will feature a cover of the Faces's 'Stay With Me' (Various).

The Jackson 5 are tipped to reunite for a tour next year (The Sun).

The Courteeners frontman Liam Fray was approached in a Dundee record shop and asked to sign a copy of single 'That Kiss', the fan offering him a pirate copy of Oasis' 'Dig Out Your Soul' in return. The frontman refused, vowing to buy a proper copy instead (Daily Star).

A year behind the pace, Brit Awards have asked James Corden and Mathew Horne to host their 2009 bash (The Sun).

Joss Stone spotted trying on an fairy costume at a fancy dress shop in London's Shaftesbury Avenue (Daily Star).
