Liam Fray says he wants to go to next July's Blur gigs at Hyde Park in London wearing an Oasis T-shirt. The Courteeners frontman says he was "Oasis throughout and through" when he was growing up. "In the mid-'90s you couldn’t even mention Blur's name out loud in Manchester," he said (Daily Star).

"In the mid-'90s you couldnâ€™t even mention Blur's name out loud in Manchester" Is that true? That is really petty if you ask me. Must have sucked to live in Manchester in the 90's with people threatening to beat you up if you wern't a fan of Oasis. You wouldn't get Blur fans doing that crap!!

Well, I don't know who Liam Fray is, but he sounds like an uneducated loser indie kid. I'm sure Blur fans have moved on, I suppose he just shows the general mentality of retarded Oasis fans, though.

Thats true that Liam, I'm Oasis through and through aswell. The two bands should of never have been compared in the first place, as one (Oasis) are the band of our generation and blur were a bunch of middle class southerns who wrote a few catchy indie pop tunes. Oasis all the way, up the Mancs.

ahh liam fray's a genius.i think you all need to take a step back coz your all taking it way to serious.he's havin a laugh. hes just said that in an interview (and hes clearly joking/over exagerating) and nme have found it and put it up.jeeeeeezzanyway hes allowed to be cocky coz hes from manchester so it's gotta be good.

TimesUp you wouldn't get a Blur fan saying that cos there all Southern Softies who would want to talk things through and maybe discuss their issues over a coffee at Starbucks, Middle Class Toffs. Freddyd69 Blur Can't write a song for shit, where as the Courteeners Album is Class. The simply fact is us Mancs are better than everyone else and we know it and Love rubbing you're Southern Noses in it.

Need he comment? wear an Oasis shirt.. he is fucking clever and original.. didn't Noel describe the fued as pathetic ? so why is this wannabe bringing it up again. Im from Manchester and believe Blur are a more talented band.. and im sure i mentioned there name in the mid 90's and live to tell the tale. AND to TOMQ84 are you kidding?? Blur can't write a song?? what do their number one singles and albums say to you? oh not to mention Blur's song Damon Albarn gaining number one's with different bands.

TOMQ84, WE GET IT, YOU'RE FROM MANCHESTER. STOP MENTIONING IT AT EVERY GIVEN MOMENT. Just because it gave us the Smiths and Stone Roses, it doesn't give every person from there holy status. Get out of the 90s. There never was much of a north/south divide, it was created by the media and flogged to death by idiots like you. If Manchester is the centre of the universe you would have us believe, why did your Idol Gallagher move to London as soon as he could?
