Blur's Alex James has revealed he, Joe Strummer and artist Damien Hirst once turned down the chance to sign Coldplay. The three, who ran a short-lived record label in the late '90s, went to see the band but weren't impressed. "We all thought they were ordinary and passed on them," James said, adding, "Then again, I still think Coldplay are a fairly ordinary band" (The Sun).
