The Enemy's Tom Clarke: 'I'm not the voice of a generation' - Daily Gossip

Madonna, Kaiser Chiefs, Sugababes – your music gossip stop

Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today’s top gossip:

The Enemy's Tom Clarke says he finds it annoying when people label him the voice of a generation. "We don't have the answer, we're just highlighting the problems," he explained, adding that the tag was "bollocks".
Despite the admission, Clarke, whose band's new album is called 'Music For The People', then gave his opinion on where modern Britain is going wrong. "We now need a return to democracy," he explained. "We just have two political parties which are exactly the same. And that's why young people don't vote" (The Sun).

From the papers:

Madonna is set to star in another ad campaign for Louis Vuitton (The Sun).

Sandi Thom has set up a MySpace page for her dead cat Toots, after revealing that she believed it had been stolen, shot and then dumped. It's at MySpace.com/justicefortoots (MySpace).

Sugababes singer Heidi Range partied with the Arsenal team at London club Movida after their Champions League win on Wednesday (April 15) (Daily Mirror).

Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil says he thinks he'll be making decent music for 20 years (Daily Record).

From NME.COM users:

Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie watched AC/DC at London's O2 Arena (from Hamish).

Peanut from Kaiser Chiefs was at London Bridge tube station, looking lost, without his hat (from Luke).

Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys played a DJ set at London's Proud Gallery (from Jamie).

Anyone can point out the problems, what we need is answers. 'Young people' such as Tom Clarke are obviously so removed from the political process that they don't realise there are fundamental differences in the political parties, which is sad... But it's not just the fault of the system, how much has Tom tried to educate himself about politics? It seems not a lot...Tom shows an attitude which epitemises what's wrong with Britain, complain but do nothing.

"The Enemy's Tom Clarke says he finds it annoying when people label him the voice of a generation." - Who are these 'people' then Tom? Your mum? The postman? And another thing: "We don't have the answer, we're just highlighting the problems," - Oh great, thanks Tom, I wouldn't have known we were in a fucking recession otherwise. Twat.
