'Coronation Street' producer Kim Crowther says she wants to get Noel Gallagher to make a guest appearance in the soap next year.

Writers are currently planning a series of special appearances to mark the show's 50th anniversary in 2010, and Crowther says that getting Gallagher to appear – along with some older characters – is top of her list. "I would love to bring Hilda [Ogden] back – and Mavis [Wilton]. Noel Gallagher would be great."

Gallagher is known to be a huge fan of 'Coronation Street', and in March he quipped: "Why they've never asked me to be in it is really one of the scandals of our age" (Daily Star).
