Lewis Hamilton and Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger have split up, after two years together. The Formula 1 star, who turned 25 last week, spent his birthday away from Scherzinger amid reports that the couple were on rocky ground, and they have now confirmed their split in a statement. "The two of us will focus on our careers at the present time and will remain close friends," they said (various).

Delphic's Richard Boardman has laid into the London music scene, saying the band would never leave their native Manchester to live in the capital. "When we did our first gig in London the audience were posing, all dressed up as sailors or something, looking like idiots," he said (Daily Star).
