The Brit Awards 2010 take place at London's Earls Court tonight (February 16), with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian, Lady Gaga and Cheryl Cole all expected to turn up.

NME.COM will be reporting live from the ceremony from 8pm (GMT), so check back for the latest news.

Below is a round-up of the latest gossip regarding the ceremony – including what the stars will be eating, where the aftershow parties are taking place and what organisers are doing to make Cheryl Cole feel at ease in relation to her alleged marital problems with hubby Ashley.

The top Brit Awards 2010 gossip:

Dizzee Rascal and Florence Welch are set to shower the Brit Awards audience with specially designed 'banknotes' bearing their faces when they team up to perform a mash-up of 'Dirtee Cash' and 'You've Got The Love' (The Sun).

Kasabian will perform 'Fire' with a big screen behind them showing psychedelic flames (Daily Star).

The food being served to stars tonight includes frittata and aubergine with a black olive nougat and mini desserts. The main course is sliced beef loaf with shallots and potato puree (Daily Mirror).

Organisers are making Cheryl Cole's backstage area as soothing as possible following the tabloid revelations about her husband Ashley Cole's private life. Her room has been painted white and cream to help calm her (The Sun).

Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue are expected to attend EMI's afterparty at The Kensington Hotel (Daily Mirror).

Organisers still aren't sure whether Noel or Liam Gallagher will turn up to the event. Oasis' 1995 album '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' is nominated in the Brits Album Of 30 Years category (various).

Kasabian's Tom Meighan says he's been making some demands for the band's backstage area at the awards. "You know that stuff that makes your shoes smell nice? I asked for some of that. Maybe a bit of aftershave [too]. But only the cheap stuff, like Old Spice," he explained (The Sun).

Lady Gaga has annoyed Brit Awards bosses by changing plans for her performance at the last minute. She has reportedly scrapped her lavish stage set-up for the performance because she is mourning the death of fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Instead, she has opted to dress all in black and sing acoustic versions of album tracks 'Dance In The Dark' and 'Telephone'. She doesn't want to be accompanied by any dancers either (The Sun).

Robbie Williams is rumoured to be performing with Take That after he collects his Outstanding Achievement award (Daily Mirror).

Jay-Z is set to host his own afterparty at Chinawhite in Soho (Daily Mirror).

Lily Allen's dressing room is being decked out with furniture originally commissioned by Michael Jackson for one of his children's playrooms (The Sun).
