Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today’s top gossip:

Pete Doherty has been photographed eating hypodermic needles – but only as part of a new collection for French photographer Steve Wells. The snapper, who is Paris-based, wrote on Flickr that Doherty was "having a drink at my local cafe, so I showed him some of the series [called À Table] and asked if he would pose for me. I was surprised by his honesty in choosing to eat needles. Under all the bullshit, he seems a genuine nice, intelligent guy". All of the other shots in the series show people eating unusual things like credit cards, maps and paint (Stevewells-photo.com).

From the papers:

Robbie Williams has had a nursery built in his Los Angeles mansion – fuelling rumours that his new wife Ayda Field, who he married on Saturday (August 7), is pregnant (The Sun).

Mischa Barton is going out with Ali Love (Daily Star).

Liam Gallagher judged a dog competition – Pup Idol – at his local pub in Hampstead, north London on Saturday (August 7) (The Sun).

Lady Sovereign had a massive row with her girlfriend in the VIP area of The Big Chill festival at the weekend (Daily Star).

Faithless have teamed up with Fiat to create what they're calling the world's first 'prommercial' – a cross between a promo video and a commercial. The new video for their single 'Feelin Good' – featuring the car – will premiere at 9pm (BST) on Channel 4 on August 15. Elena Bernardelli, marketing director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK said: "We're thrilled to be launching the first ever music/brand 'prommercial'. No other car brand has co-created a music video where the story has been written with the car and band as equal partners."
