Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today’s top gossip:

Kanye West has revealed that he contemplated suicide. Speaking after the US premiere of his new short film Runaway he said, "There were times that I contemplated suicide, I will not give up on life again. There's so many people that will never get the chance to have their voice heard. I do it for them" (Various).

From the papers:

Lady Gaga says that late-night drinking is helping to inspire the follow-up to her 2009 debut 'The Fame' (Daily Record).

Professor Green has revealed that an arrest by Scotland Yard's SWAT team saved him from a life of crime. The rapper admitted that he was involved in drug dealing before he signed a record deal and his home was once raided. "In 2005 I was raided by a SWAT squad and I was arrested for suspicion of kidnap, false imprisonment and possession," he said. "But I got a 'no further action' because it was wrong place, wrong time. That happened as I was negotiating a deal with Mike Skinner's label and that was a big wake-up call" (Daily Record).

Cheryl Cole is set to make her live return on Sunday's The X Factor after being struck down with malaria in the summer. The singer will debut 'Promise', the first single from her forthcoming second solo album (The Sun).
