Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.

Today's top gossip:

Airline crooner Kanye West says he thinks Coldplay will be seen as better than The Beatles. Speaking about Chris Martin, he said: "The man is a genius – as a performer and a songwriter he is on the same level as John Lennon." Incredibly, he was talking straightfaced, going on to add: "I honestly think Coldplay are on the same level as The Beatles. In 30 years, when Coldplay are old men, people will look back and say, 'These guys were more talented than The Beatles.'" We'll see, Kanye… (The Sun).

From the papers:

If you're a Russian billionaire, you're in luck. Amy Winehouse is looking for gigs. Private ones, that is. Which pay lots and lots of moolah. Nice to see you keeping it real, Amy (The Sun).

Goldie wore a floor-length white fur coat in Sloane Square. There's just too many things wrong with that sentence to mention in more detail (Daily Star).

Chelsea's Ashley Cole says he'd be up for starting a record label when he's done with football. Under no circumstances must this actually be allowed to happen (various).

Take That's Howard Donald was photographed walking with crutches – and looking rather a lot like a tramp – after supposedly injuring his foot at the gym (The Sun).

Michael Jackson used to make a mean French toast for his kids, according to daughter Paris, 12 (various).
