Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out what the stars of the music world have been up to in the tabloids and beyond, with the help of plenty of "anonymous sources".

Today's top gossip:

Johnny Marr has hit out at Prime Minister David Cameron for liking The Smiths. The guitarist addressed Cameron, who has regularly bigged up The Smiths, by tweeting: "David Cameron, stop saying that you like The Smiths, no you don't. I forbid you to like it" (Twitter.com/johnny_marr).

Sorry Johnny Marr, you don't get to choose who likes The Smiths

From the papers:

Despite the range only launching officially last month, Pete Doherty has admitted that he only set up his jewellery line Albion Trinketry for money. "I wasn't very keen on having a range. It was a managerial thing. They said, 'Come on. You could make a few quid out of this," he said. Got to admire his honesty (various).

Noel Gallagher's 10 year-old daughter Anais has started learning guitar, according to her mum, and Noel's ex-wife Meg Matthews. "She's learning guitar and recently came home playing Rage Against The Machine," Matthews said. We're not entirely sure her dad would be happy with that, to be honest (News Of The World).

Kylie Minogue appeared to get into the Christmas spirit a little too much recently, as she dressed in an outfit resembling a turkey when she sang at a tree lighting ceremony at New York's Rockefeller Centre (The Sun).

Ronan Keating is obviously still trying to make it up to his wife after cheating on her, we read in the red-tops today. He was spotted looking at expensive gear in a Dublin jewellers (Daily Star).

A banner featuring Latin writing in Coldplay's new video for 'Christmas Lights' has revealed an odd message from the band. It apparently translates to: "I believe Elvis still lives" (various).
