Vampire Weekend and Black Keys in 'skull bash' fight over Grammy - Daily Gossip
Julian tweets 'real' Strokes cover, Wino and Tony Bennett hook up – your music gossip stop
Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out what the stars of the music world have been up to in the tabloids and beyond, with the help of plenty of "anonymous sources".
Today's top gossip:
Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig and The Black Keys have been fighting over who should get the 2011 Grammy award for Best Alternative Album.
Both acts are nominated, and they appeared on US TV show The Colbert Report to battle it out. Watch video footage of the show, available on YouTube, to witness Koenig threaten to "bash those ironic glasses" through Black Keys' drummer Patrick Carney's "skull"... he's joking, of course!
From the papers:
Julian Casablancas has been jokingly tweeting about The Strokes' new album cover again – now he's saying that a new image linked at Twitter.com/casablancas_j is the real one. Although you may want to take a look at the NME blog we posted on Monday (January 10) before you take Jules' tweet as gospel…
Tony Bennett reckons he's the one to finally get Amy Winehouse to release some new material, we read. He's said that the duo have made tentative plans to collaborate. "It's still in the works," he admitted (The Sun).
Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding's party days could be over, we see – she was snapped wearing an engagement ring while at Heathrow airport with long-term beau Tom Crane (various).
Here's a surprise – we read that Flo Rida is apparently into collecting fridge magnets while on tour. Beats bling, we suppose (Daily Record).
