Damon Albarn to present Honest Jon's revue

Damon Albarn is set to present and perform at the Honest Jon's Revue, a special event to take place at Lincoln Center in New York City next month.

The Blur/ Gorillaz/ The Good, The Bad & The Queen/ Monkey: Journey to the West man will take part in the July 12 event at Avery Fisher Hall which will a feature a musical ‘chop up’ (Nigerian slang for ‘feast’) of performances by Honest Jon's artists Tony Allen, Afel Boccoum, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Kokanko Sata, Simone White, Victoria Williams and Albarn himself.

Founded in 2002, Albarn’s own label, Honest Jon’s is named for a landmark record shop on London's Portobello Road.

According to a press release, the performers will be playing both solo sets and collaboratively under Albarn's direction. The performance will run approximately two hours in length with no intermission and no late seating.
