Western/African collaboration project set for London
Afrika Exprez – the collaboration project that has seen African musicians collaborate with Western artists including Damon Albarn, Franz Ferdinand and Reverend And The Makers - has joined the line-up for next month's BBC Electric Proms.
An Afrika Exprez gig will take place at London KOKO on October 22.
However, as is tradition with the project, artists set to appear at the bash will not be announced in advance, while the various collaborators will be put together on the day of the show itself.
In March this year Franz Ferdinand, Hard-Fi, Damon Albarn and Reverend And The Makers all played an Afrika Exprez gig at Liverpool's Olympia venue.
Other acts set to play separate gigs as part of the Electric Proms series include The Streets, Keane and Razorlight. See bbc.co.uk/electricproms for more.
