Blur frontman Damon Albarn has shared his thoughts on Kanye West, saying that he would rather people be more like the rapper.

Albarn recently spoke to grime MC Kano in a video interview for Noisey. The pair collaborated together for Kano's new album 'Made In The Manor'.

In the 'Back & Forth' chat, the Gorillaz man explained why he doesn't use social media. "The thing about social media is that it draws you in to what you are at that moment and doesn't let you go, especially when people respond to it," Albarn said.

He continued: "That's why I stay away from it because I don't want to be restricted by something I said last night when I was drunk. I'm sure that I would be in so much trouble [if I used social media] because I have some quite strong opinions on occasion."

Asked whether Kanye West should "take a more Damon approach" to social media, Albarn responded: "Well, I've known Kanye since he first arrived. Some of his ideas are brilliant, some of them are really bad, but that doesn't matter… He's interesting, definitely. I'd rather people were like that than just really safe."

"If I somehow ended up managing Kanye West, fucking hell, I'd definitely start with a nice cup of tea and a piece of cake. Then I'd take it from there," he said.

Admitting that he has not yet heard West's latest album 'The Life Of Pablo', Albarn seemed unimpressed to hear that it was only available exclusively through Jay-Z's Tidal music streaming service.

"He's put it on Tidal, has he?" Albarn asked. "That's probably not the best place for it."
