Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy star in first ‘Victor Frankenstein’ trailer – watch

'Dynamic and thrilling twist' on Mary Shelley's classic story opens in cinemas this December

The first trailer for Victor Frankenstein starring James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe has been released.

Directed by Paul McGuigan (the BBC’sSherlock) from a script by Max Landis (Chronicle), the film is billed as a “dynamic and thrilling twist” on Mary Shelley’s classic horror story. It was shot at various locations in England in late 2013 and early 2014.

The film’s official synopsis teases: “James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a dynamic and thrilling twist on a legendary tale. Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality.

“But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation.”

Alongside McAvoy and Radcliffe, Victor Frankenstein stars Sherlock‘s Mark Gatiss and Andrew Scott, Game Of Thrones veteran Charles Dance and former Downton Abbey actress Jessica Brown Findlay. It opens in UK cinemas on December 4.
