London’s acclaimed indie club Chalk has announced it is set to close for the summer.
The night, which takes place at King’s Cross venue Scala, began in January 2006, and is set to close on May 26.
In a statement, promoters Andy Peyton and Caius said: “May 26 will be the last Chalk @ Scala, as we wrap up for the Summer... Rather than labour through the summer, trying to persuade people to leave beer gardens and not go to great festivals, we thought it best to stop the weekly night on May 26."
They added: "There will be several very interesting one-offs in the summer, and we'll be back in September, bigger and better, at a new venue.”
The final night will feature performances from Datarock, Shychild, Wiley, Remi Nicole, Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, Do It and Audio Jackers.
