Dave Grohl to appear at ‘Sound City’ UK premiere

Foo's man's rock doc will screen for one night only across the UK this month

Dave Grohl’s Sound City documentary will screen across the UK for one night only later this month.

The Foo Fighters man has recruited a host of rock legends to tell the story of the legendary Los Angeles studio space. Now, he has just announced through Twitter.com/FooFighters that the movie will screen at selected cinemas on February 18. A screening at London’s Vue Leicester Square will be followed by a live Q&A session with Grohl himself.

Details of which theatres will be screening the film can be found at MyVue.com.

The film tells the story of “rock’s best kept secret” in the San Fernando Valley, the birthplace of records by Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Rick Springfield and Tom Petty. Most recently, London’s Tribes recorded their forthcoming album ‘Wish To Scream’ there.

Grohl premiered the film at the Sundance Festival in Utah where he unveiled his Sound City Players supergroup, made up of alumni of the studio including Krist Novoselic, Stevie Nicks Rick Springfield and Rick Nielsen. Their next show will take place at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on February 13.
