Dave Grohl plays at Country Music Awards with Zac Brown Band – watch

The Foo Fighters frontman plays drums with the Atlanta rockers

Dave Grohl made an appearance at the Country Music Awards last night with the Zac Brown Band (November 6) – watch it below.

The Foo Fighters frontman joined the Altlana country folk rockers to play Brown's new track 'Day For The Dead' at the Nashville bash.

Winners on the night included Taylor Swift, who picked up the Pinnacle Award, which is presented to artists who have taken country music to a worldwide audience, and Kenny Rogers, who was given the Lifetime Achievement award.

Earlier this month, Grohl teamed up with Jack Black and Hollywood actor Val Kilmer to form spoof rock band Sweetriver And The Huckleberry Dogs.

The trio performed 'Back To The Beginning' as part of Yahoo's web series, Ghost Ghirls, which is produced by Black and can be seen here. In the latest episode of the series the trio play characters haunting a recording studio that the Ghost Ghirls are called upon to investigate. They bring the band together for one last performance of their song, 'Back To The Beginning'.

'Back To The Beginning' appears on the official Ghost Ghirls EP, which can be downloaded now via iTunes. The four-song release also features another Sweetriver and the Huckleberry Dogs song titled 'Georgia Peach'.

Earlier this year Dave Grohl revealed that the new Foo Fighters album has now been written. Grohl has previously teased that the band's next album, the follow-up to 2011's 'Wasting Light', will "not be a conventional record".
