Festival organisers have posted a skeletal line-up on their website, www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk, which includes information on the headliners for all the major music stages, as well as details on the circus and theatre stages.

On the Pyramid Stage, Friday night will be headlined by Chemical Brothers, with Travis on the Saturday and David Bowie closing the festival on the Sunday night. Also confirmed to play the Pyramid are Embrace, The Wailers and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

On the Other Stage, confirmed acts include Moby, Nine Inch Nails, Leftfield and Basement Jaxx, while this year's Dance Tent features Dave Clarke, Junkie XL and Manchild on the Friday, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Justin Robertson and Rhinocerose on the Saturday and Kelis, Gilles Peterson and Mint Royale on the Sunday.

A spokesperson for the festival told nme.com organisers will be putting a full day-by-day line-up on their site from June 1. To see the full line-up of bands confirmed so far for this year's festival, visit www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.

Planned improvements at this year's 100,000 capacity festival include more camping space, better security on site to help cut down on tent thefts, better drainage and a new bus station.
