Thurston Moore to introduce MoMA Bowie video programme
Sonic Youth man will provide commentary in New York
Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore is set to provide commentary for a selection of works by David Bowie, which will be shown at MoMA in New York next month.
The event, held in conjunction with the exhibition Looking at Music, is called 'Thurston Moore Introduces Early Music Videos by David Bowie', and is being held to celebrate Bowie’s recent gift to the museum of his music videos archive. It will take place on December 1.
Bowie worked with legendary photographer and filmmaker Mick Rock, on a number of the videos. Rock's known for his shots of acts including Iggy Pop, Queen, the Ramones, Lou Reed, and the Sex Pistols.
