David Bowie has delivered a Christmas message via BBC Radio 6 Music in which he does an impression of Elvis Presley.

The 41-second long clip was broadcast earlier today (December 26) during This Is Radio Clash, a two hour long show on BBC Radio 6 Music from the surviving members of The Clash; Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon. Click below to listen to the message, during which Bowie adopts Presley's signature Southern drawl.

Bowie's message is as follows: "Hello everybody, this is David Bowie making a telephone call from the US of A. At this time of the year I can't help but remember my British-ness and all the jolly British folk, so here's to you and have yourselves a Merry little Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you very much."

Elvis and Bowie share a January 8 birthday and Bowie has stated that he offered his 1975 song 'Golden Years' to Presley, but that he declined it.

This autumn four new Bowie songs premiered online. 'Atomica', 'The Informer', 'Like A Rocket Man' and 'Born In A UFO' all feature on the three disc edition of his latest album, 'The Next Day'. 'The Next Day Extra' is out now and includes the original 14-track album, a 10-track CD of bonus songs and a DVD featuring the four videos made for the album: 'Where Are We Now?', 'The Stars (Are Out Tonight)', 'The Next Day' and 'Valentine's Day'. The new release also contains the James Murphy remix of the track 'Love Is Lost'.
