David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's 'Here Lies Love' musical is set to open in London this autumn.

The musical is based on the pair's double album of the same name, which was released in 2010 and documents the life of Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines. It will open at the National Theatre in October.

The show has just opened its new commercial run at New York's Public Theater, reports Billboard, after initially opening in April 2013.

Speaking about the production to the Hollywood Reporter, Byrne commented: "We wanted it to continue, but because of the nature of the show - it's a simulated danceclub disco and the performance goes on all around you - we can't do it in a regular theatre. So we looked and looked, and in the time since the last run, we didn't find anything - almost but not quite. The Public generously said, 'Come back into the place where you were. You can do a commercial run here, and we'll make some kind of deal. We don't want it to disappear for too long.'"

The 22-track double 'Here Lies Love' featured a host of guest vocalists, including Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch, Santigold and Tori Amos. "The story I am interested in is about asking what drives a powerful person, what makes them tick? How do they make and then remake themselves?" Byrne explained in an introduction to the 100-page book which came along with the record.

"I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great if – as this piece would be principally composed of clubby dance music – one could experience it in a club setting? Could one bring a 'story' and a kind of theatre to the disco? Was that possible? If so, wouldn't that be amazing!" he added.
