POSTCARD FROM BOWLIE 1
First postcard from the uber indie festival, [b]Bowlie[/b]...
By the time The Delgados take the stage, the main hall is still barely full, with fans straggling in and very gradually swelling the crowd.
The Delgados - one of the bands who could lay claim to being godfathers of the event - take the stage to heckling from Mogwai, who are firmly positioned down the front and look like they'll stay there all weekend. "Celtic suck, ya sectarian fuckwit!" The Delgados reply.
Nice set - they're a touch reserved - but by the time they leave any apprehension about the event has almost all dispelled. Then Teenage Fanclub came and blew it all away...
