Depeche Mode restart tour after tumour op Depeche Mode Tickets

Dave Gahan returns to the stage in Germany

Depeche Mode resumed touring again last night (June 8) in Germany, after they were forced to put their live plans on hold last month due to illness.

Frontman Dave Gahan had a tumour removed from his bladder in May, forcing the cancellation of a number of shows.

The band returned to performing in Leipzig last night, with the singer declaring afterwards: "I'm grateful to the fans for showing their support and thankful to my family, friends and all of the doctors who looked after me so well. Being back onstage is an incredible feeling and I'm looking forward to each and every show."

Rescheduled dates for the cancelled shows are set to be announced soon.

Fryars have got Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan to sing on debut album 'Dark Young Hearts' after a chance studio encounter. Speaking to NME.COM Wednesday (November 5), Ben Garrett explained that the veteran has contributed vocals to a track called 'Visitor', after walking in while producer and ex-Clor guitarist Luke Smith was working on the song in his New York studio.
