And a fan in Berlin who guessed right has won a signed promo copy of the eagerly-awaited LP...

DEPECHE MODE have revealed the title of their new album - 'EXCITER'.

As reported on NME.COM earlier this week, the band's official website - www.depechemode.com
- ran a competition for fans to guess the title, giving clues over three days to the letters, which then had to be unscrambled. A fan in Berlin was chosen from the correct answers, and will receive a signed promo copy of the album prior to its release.

According to sources, 'Exciter' is slated for release in May, and details of a single, the band's first in three years, are expected to be announced soon. There have been suggestions that its title could be 'Dream On'. A spokesperson told NME.COM that an announcement should be made next week.

Rumours that the band will kick off a world tour in the US in June are as yet unconfirmed.
