Michelle Williams has denied that Destiny's Child are to reunite during Beyonce's eagerly-anticipated Super Bowl performance.
Beyonce is gearing up to take to the stage this Sunday (February 3) at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Earlier this month, it was reported that her former bandmates Williams and Kelly Rowland will join her during the show and last week their setlist was apparently revealed. The reunited trio were supposedly due to play a three-track medley, consisting of 'Bills, Bills, Bills', 'Survivor' and new song 'Nuclear'.
However, Williams has now dismissed these reports, telling WRUG Radio: "That's not confirmed. It is rumoured. I'm gonna be in the musical Fela!. I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true." Scroll down and click 'play' to watch Williams' comments on the rumoured reunion.
Meanwhile, controversy is currently surrounding Beyonce after she was accused of miming to the US national anthem during President Obama's inauguration ceremony last Monday (January 21).
According to Entertainment Weekly, a new statement from the Marine Corps Band, who backed her on the day, says that while they did not perform live, they can't say whether Beyonce was singing live or not.
"The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) requested that the Marine Band accompany Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in the performance of the Star-Spangled Banner at the 2013 Inaugural Ceremony. However, there was no opportunity for Ms. Knowles-Carter to rehearse with the Marine Band before the Inauguration so it was determined that a live performance by the band was ill-advised for such a high-profile event," the statement reads.
It continues: "Each piece of music scheduled for performance in the Inauguration is pre-recorded for use in case of freezing temperatures, equipment failure, or extenuating circumstances. Regarding Ms. Knowles-Carter's vocal performance, no one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded."
