Dido reveals she had baby boy in July
Singer names son Stan – the same name as her 2000 hit single 'Stan' with Eminem
Dido secretly gave birth to a baby boy in July of this year, according to reports.
The Daily Mail reports that the 'White Flag' singer and her husband Rohan Garvin had welcomed their son Stanley at London's Portland Hospital five months ago, but have only recently decided to reveal the information to the public.
Dido also acknowledged the new arrival on Twitter, writing:
I wanted to wish you all a very happy christmas. I'm ridiculously excited about stanley's first christmas this year! : )
Dido had revealed that she was pregnant in February of this year, after she was forced to pull out of a scheduled appearance at the Oscars in LA to perform as she was unable to travel via aeroplane.
It appears to be a coincidence that the singer's son shares a name with the crazed protagonist of her 2000 duet with Eminem, 'Stan', which bagged the pair a Number One single and helped pave the way for Dido's solo career.
The controversial track recounts the tale of a stalker who writes to Eminem and becomes angry when he doesn't receive a response, eventually locking his pregnant girlfriend in the boot of his car and driving into a river. It sampled Dido's track 'Thank You' in the chorus, and the singer also appeared in the video for the song.
