Diplo is reported to have sent a rider to a Manhattan venue with requests including a gorilla, Malawi orphan, a parrot trained to say his name and inflatable animals.
The seemingly joke rider for his show at Pier 94 in Manhatten includes, according to the New York Post, a gorilla ("Silverback is preferred, an orangutan is also acceptable"), a Malawi orphan, a parrot trained to say his own name, a dart board with Nicolas Cage's face on it, a violin player ("to play while we eat our cheese plate"), two inflatable animals ("bonus points for endangered or extinct species"), the third season of Lost on VHS tapes and finally a "1983 Yak Face ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi action figure".
Perhaps the DJ, producer, rapper and record label boss is trying to rival Axl Rose, whose requests on this summer's Guns N' Roses tour included a square melon, which incidentally does exist, as well as a custom-made Italian leather couch, presumably so he had somewhere comfy to sit while tucking into the specially-shaped fruit.
Diplo features on a new free four-track EP from Katy B, which also features collaborations with Jessie Ware and Wiley. The 'Danger' EP is available as a free download and features four tracks titled 'Aaliyah', 'Danger', 'Got Paid' and 'Light As A Feather'.
