Dizzee Rascal played a gig at the Roundhouse in London last night (October 21) backed by an orchestra and full band, for the BBC Electric Proms.

Walking onstage to a choral rendition of "he's just a rascal, Dizzee Rascal" complete with heavy-rock guitar and a brief riff from The Strokes' 'Reptilia', Dizzee proceeded to rip through 'Jus' A Rascal'.
The song ended with an excerpt from his famous Newsnight interview with Jeremy Paxman. Silence fell towards the end of the clip so the line "Dizzee Rascal for Prime Minister, yeah?" rung out with added emphasis to loud cheers.
The opener set the tone for a night of surprises which saw Dizzee rap over Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', collaborate with Brinsley Forde from reggae legends Aswad on 'Can't Tek No More' and cover Rage Against The Machine.
New single 'Dirtee Cash' was performed acoustic with backing singers. 'Dance Wiv Me' had Calvin Harris' vocals sung by a choir while a country slide-guitar version of huge hit 'Bonkers' was introduced with a cry of "here's one you might know".
Dizzee himself was in charismatic form, but kept crowd banter to a minimum. Towards the end of the set he thanked the crowd before saying, "I only learned the words to this yesterday, that's my cop out, yeah."
He then covered 'Bulls On Parade' from Rage Against The Machine's 1996 album 'Evil Empire'. He closed with a guitar solo-heavy 'Fix Up, Look Sharp'.
