Dizzee Rascal re-records football anthem 'Shout' for Euro 2012 - listen

Dizzee Rascal has re-recorded his football anthem 'Shout' and will release it tomorrow (June 23). You can hear the track by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The rapper originally released the track in 2010 as an unofficial single for England's disastrous World Cup campaign and has reportedly re-recorded the track with new lyrics for this year's Euro 2012 tournament.

Dizzee has recorded new lyrics to the track for a rush release in time for England's quarter final against Italy in Euro 2012 on Sunday (June 24) and reflects England's new look line-up, with the likes of Danny Welbeck, Andy Carroll and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, along with coach Roy Hodgson all getting a mention.

The main verse bounces off like so: "A new manager and fresh faces. Top of the leaderboard, you're really going places. I see discipline, I see unity.
I see Welbeck, I see Rooney. Big up, Chamberlain, Ashley Young and Walcott! I give John Terry props for giving it all he got. You know Lescott's high-top can't be stopped. Gerrard and Andy Carroll got the game on lock. No need to fear the other teams, we're gonna smash the lot. 2012 the year we show the world what we've got."

The track retains its samples of 'Shout' by Tears For Fears and Blackstreet's 'No Diggity' as well as its guest appearance by Gavin And Stacey star James Corden. All proceeds from the track will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The rapper recently revealed further details of his forthcoming new album - promising "big pop tunes". Dizzee, who has been working in LA on the follow up to 2009's 'Tongue N' Cheek' with hip hop producer Alex Da Kid and Lady Gaga collaborator RedOne, said he wants to maintain his mainstream appeal on his latest LP.

He said of his new material: "I'm a couple of tracks short of what I want but there are some big tunes done already. They are big pop songs - I'm not afraid to say it. It worked well for me on the last album."

Earlier this year the rapper revealed that his fifth studio effort will also feature contributions from house producer Erick Morillo and Calvin Harris.
