A warrant for the arrest of US rapper DMX has been issued.
The star failed to turn up to a court hearing in New York to face several charges including driving without a licence, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.
Judge Barbara Leak issued the warrant on Wednesday (June 28). The proceedings had already been postponed twice.
DMX’s lawyer, Stacey Murray, promised that his client would appear in court today (June 29), citing illness as the reason for his non-appearance.
“We have granted him a number of courtesies. It ends now,” the judge said.
DMX - real name Earl Simmons - was stopped by police in the New York borough of White Plains on June 2 for speeding and making unsafe lane changes. They claim he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and did not have a driver's licence.
Over a week later he was given a ticket for driving on the shoulder of the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison, New York, reports the BBC.
