DMX misses court date due to hospitalisation
The rapper's condition is serious, says lawyer
The rapper's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, said that his condition was serious, but it looks like he will make a full recovery.
"It was serious enough for him to be brought and taken into a treatment facility," Cohen told Billboard.com. "He spent the night there last night, and he will probably spend tonight there as well. I don't think it's going to be an ongoing thing or a life-threatening situation. He's going to be alright."
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was extradited from Florida to Arizona earlier this month to face several charges in that state including drug possession, traffic violations, animal cruelty accusations and defrauding a hospital with an invalid Social Security number and name.
The rapper posted bond and was due in court yesterday to resolve a bond-related matter pertaining to the drug possession case.
