DMX sentenced to 90 days in jail

DMX has been sentenced to 90 days in prison, plus 18 months probation.

Maricopa County Superior Court commissioner Phemonia Miller handed down the sentence, with no credit for the time DMX, whose real names is Earl Simmons, has served since being detained last month, reports Reuters.

The rapper was arrested several times over the past year, for a variety of offences ranging from drugs to animal cruelty charges. He was also arrested after giving a fake name at a clinic to avoid paying medical bills.

In May, he was arrested on animal cruelty charges after malnourished pit bills and carcasses were found at his home the previous summer, while in April he was charged with assuming a false identity at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

DMX pleaded guilty to all charges and agreed not to own any animals or firearms.
