DMX gets probation for assault charges
The rapper is accused of throwing a food tray at a detention officer
DMX has been sentenced to 18 months of probation for allegedly throwing a food tray at a detention officer while he was serving time in an Arizona jail earlier this year.
The rapper had been in a Phoenix facility serving time on drugs, fraud and animal cruelty charges when he allegedly assaulted a prison employee over food.
As a result, Judge Robert Gottsfield in Maricopa County Superior Court today (June 8) sentenced DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, to 18 months on supervised probation. The judge also ordered him to attend counselling, reports Reuters.
Simmons had been serving 90 days on the original charges, and was released in mid-May.
